OUR DREAM
We are very proud, and committed to raising funds through our NFT projects to help independent restaurants and to combat food insecurity.
But raising money is just the beginning!
From the start, our vision has been to support lasting and long term sustainable economic solutions. And with the roll out of our NFT projects, we are confident that we will deliver on this promise.
Here’s how and why…..
As the pandemic rolled through our neighborhoods in 2020, and ravaged so many small businesses, it became crystal clear how inextricably linked we all are.
As we spoke to our friends who work in the restaurant business, we heard over and over again, that the #1 thing that restaurants needed was: “Repeat Customers” - aka BUTTS IN SEATS!
And likewise, when we spoke to patrons, we could hear a new understanding and awakening about the importance of local restaurants to our communities and their wellbeing.
And so, as the pandemic has so starkly shown us, our communities are inextricably intertwined, both emotionally and economically.
When restaurants have their lights on, our neighbors have their lights on.
When restaurants have food on tables, our neighbors have food on their tables.
It became apparent, therefore, that if we could help our local restaurants, we would be, by extension, helping our neighbors as well.
With the importance of this interconnectivity, we started the Dinner Roll Campaign to spread this awareness and to bolster sustainable models that strengthen this mission.
WHY NFTS?
With the buzz and excitement of NFT's all around us, we were intrigued about the potential of tapping into this new digital landscape. And then once we understood Web3’s power and potential to build communities back better… we were hooked and jumped in!
First, we created the Dinner Roll Dance, a 1 of 1 composite portrait of over 60 celebrity and local chefs, recreating Charlie Chaplin’s infamous dinner roll dance from the 1925 film, The Gold Rush. Slated to drop May 4th, this one of a kind NFT communicates that restaurants are places of entertainment, connection, joy, and laughter.
With an amazing list of influential and big hearted New Yorkers along for the ride, we will then drop our next project, the “Electric Chef”, a collectible PFP NFT series that provides an opportunity for the general public to join our mission. This project, slated to drop mid June, will generate income for our non profit partners, Rethink Food and World Central Kitchen - both who have created initiatives to support independent restaurants and families struggling with food insecurity.
UTILITY: THE ELECTRIC CHEF RESTAURANT NETWORK
In keeping with our dream of creating a lasting impact on the communities and the issues we value, the owners of Electric Chef NFT’s will become members of our socially responsible dining club, which provides ongoing support to their local restaurants.
Our EC NFT membership experience, championed by both influential tastemakers and everyday New Yorkers, aims to bolster and empower our communities…not just for today but for the long term.
To achieve this, we partnered with Rethink Food and their network of over 100 NYC restaurants to create a global dining club experience, championed by master chefs, celebrities, filmmakers, artists, and, most importantly, people like you. These NFT worlds will give access to VIP culinary experiences, live events, one of a kind merch, and exclusive video content while supporting great restaurants.
We want the coffee shop around the corner, and the small Thai place with really good noodles, to keep customers coming back with bold resilience - the kind NYC is known for. Our NFTs help bridge the gap between your favorite local, independently owned restaurants and the digital space.
Through the Electric Chef NFT, customers will be joining a community of like minded individuals who are passionate about helping New York City advance sustainable models for the future.
Once a successful New York campaign is underway, our dream is to position this DRC model so that it can be replicated in other cities throughout the country, and the world, to raise funds for struggling restaurants and to address hunger and food insecurity.
